Location: Singapore
Salary: SGD $10,000 – $13,000 per month
This role sits within the Singapore tax team, providing end-to-end tax advisory, compliance and reporting support across business-as-usual activities and change initiatives within the finance industry. You will partner closely with Finance, product and business stakeholders to manage Singapore tax matters, with a particular focus on corporate and institutional banking, and support evolving global minimum tax requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Provide practical tax advice on products, transactions and business priorities in Singapore.
- Support tax compliance obligations, including corporate income tax, withholding tax, GST and transfer pricing; maintain robust controls and documentation.
- Deliver tax reporting requirements, including tax provisioning, effective tax rate analysis, month-end close support and audit coordination.
- Support implementation and ongoing compliance for OECD Pillar Two and Singapore Domestic Minimum Top-up Tax (DMTT), including data gathering, impact analysis, governance, controls and related reporting.
- Identify process simplification opportunities and drive sustainable adoption with stakeholders.
- Support tax analysis and risk mitigation for business change initiatives, including cross-functional coordination.
- Assist with tax audits and inspections; coordinate information requests and support response strategies with relevant stakeholders.
- Support customer tax reporting matters (FATCA, CRS and QI) in partnership with relevant teams.
- Deliver ad-hoc projects as required.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, with a professional accounting qualification.
- Minimum 10 years’ professional tax experience, ideally within banking or financial services.
- Strong knowledge of tax accounting (current/deferred tax, tax provisioning, effective tax rate drivers) and ability to work effectively with Finance stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of Pillar Two / Global Minimum Tax and DMTT concepts, including data and compliance requirements.
- Strong technical and commercial understanding of tax impacts on business, including familiarity with FATCA and Common Reporting Standard (CRS).
- Excellent stakeholder management, sound judgement and confident problem-solving with the ability to make measured commercial decisions.
- Strong analytical capability and attention to detail, with high standards of accuracy and policy adherence.
