Overview
We are seeking a Securities Operations professional to support post-trade activities across global markets within an asset management environment. This role partners with trading, portfolio management, risk, finance, custodians and brokers to ensure accurate and timely settlement, asset servicing, reconciliations and operational controls across multiple asset classes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end trade lifecycle, including trade capture validation, confirmations, matching, settlement and fail management.
- Oversee daily reconciliations (positions, cash, holdings and transactions) and investigate breaks with internal teams and external parties.
- Handle corporate actions, income processing, proxy events and asset servicing, ensuring correct elections and postings.
- Support collateral and margin processes where applicable (e.g., derivatives), including calls, disputes and reporting.
- Perform NAV/price tolerance checks and support month-end and year-end close activities in conjunction with fund accounting.
- Maintain static data quality for securities, counterparties and settlement instructions; ensure adherence to settlement market practices.
- Monitor operational risk, implement controls, produce KPI/MI reporting and drive continuous improvement and automation.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations, including trade reporting and documentation requirements.
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Typically 3–7 years’ experience in securities operations, middle office or custody operations within asset management, banking or a broker.
- Strong knowledge of post-trade processes across equities, fixed income and funds; derivatives experience (OTC/ETD) is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with reconciliations, corporate actions and settlement, including managing fails and claims.
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with order management, portfolio management and/or back-office platforms is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong numerical skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to collaborate with global stakeholders and service providers.
- Understanding of operational risk, controls, audit readiness and process documentation.
